Obituary:

Alada (Leta) Kay Grogan, age 65 peacefully departed this life Wednesday February 21, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family after battling a long illness.

Leta was born August 22, 1952 in Henderson, KY, and soon blessed to the parents James and Bonnie Hailman.

She was an amazing woman, who you couldn’t help but fall in love with as soon as you met her. With a heart of gold and a love for people. She was always willing and wanting to help anyone in any way she possibly could. She had an inner strength in her that could be matched by very few, and it was that strength that helped her overcome every obstacle and hardship that crossed her path.

This woman accomplished things in her life she was told she could never do! She survived things we were told she would never make it through. But she conquered every trial and struggle with an unwavering faith and confidence.

Leta’s faith in God and the love of her family meant everything to her. Even while going through things most people couldn’t begin to comprehend. She worried about her family, never giving thought to herself. Selfless and strong until the end because that’s just the way God had made her.

Leta was also a very hard worker her entire life. Employed at such places as Zenith, Hudson Valley Tree, as well as ProForm Plastics, and Gaurdian Automotive.

In her later years, her favorite thing to do was watching television…especially Supernatural, Blue Bloods, Law & Order, and MASH. But her real passion was crafts and bead working for jewelry. She took such pride in her beadwork. She had begun teaching her great nieces, (Kadynse and Aryianna Clayton) her techniques.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Bonnie Hailman and brother, Johnny Hailman.

Leta is survived by her two sons Amos (Brandi) Grogan and Anthony Grogan; sister, Dena (Junior) Hollis; niece and caregiver, Jeannie Hollis as well as other nieces and nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; three grandchildren, Adam Grogan, Atlanta Grogan, and Luna Grogan.

The family would also like to thank Deaconess VNA and Hospice for all their loving care and guidance helping us through Leta’s final journey.

Services for Leta will be February 27, 2018 at 12:00 by Pastor Terry Gamlbin at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, Indiana. Visitation for Leta will be and hour prior to service.
