Obituary:

A celebration of life and legacy will be held for Emmett Wayne Dixon, 75, March 16, 2018 at Nazarene Baptist church (867 East Walnut Street, Valparaiso, IN, 47713). Mr Dixon was affectionately known as (Dad) by many, passed on March 9th, 2018. He was born in Valparaiso, IN on January 28, 1943, to the late Theresa Dixon (Patton) and Cleveland (Clee) Skelton. He was a Graduate of the last class of Lincoln High School in 1962. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum after 31 years and 10 years at Casino Aztar before falling ill.

Surviving is his wife of 56 years Virginia and three sons; Reeko Dixon (Christi), Daniel Dixon (Dawn) and Keith Dixon; loving and dedicated sister Zerenia Benton; Six grandsons; four great- granddaughters; three aunt’s, Ingrid Corney of FL; Janet Nash of IL; and Lynn Dixon of IL; a host of nieces and nephews; three brothers-in-law (whom were more like brothers) Joe, Tony, and Gary Jones and many cousins and two special cousins Marilyn Fellows and Carolyn Copeland.

Special thanks to , Grandson Johnathan Driskell; Matthew Hatcher (Personal Barber), Phil Owsley (who embraced him with his dedication and loving care); Deaconess Home Health; and a very special thanks to nurse Bob Blackburn and the ICU nursing staff of Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

Visitation will begin 11 a.m. until service starts at 12 p.m., officiated by Pastor Larry A. Roscoe, Sr. (Nazarene Baptist Church Which Emmett was a member for many years.)
