Lauretta Mansfield-Rudd, 83, passed away January 26, 2018 in Valparaiso. Lauretta was born the daughter of Kathryn and Richard James Manfield sr. in Paducah, KY on August 11, 1934.
Lauretta was known for her love of social gatherings, fearless navigation of the public transit system in Chicago, a love for shopping, and above all family and faith. She was a dedicated member of St. John’s Baptist Temple in Chicago, IL, by serving on their women’s day committee and also producing the bulletins for the church. More recently she was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Valparaiso.
Lauretta is survived by her siblings Hallie Bowden, Margaret Kirksey, and Ronnie Mansfield; friends Extra Porter and Ken Nixon; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Albert Rudd; siblings Richard Mansfield Jr., Charles Mansfield, and Sharon Sue Mansfield.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery.
