    Mr. Miyagi,
I know that you’re in a better place now, and there’s no more suffering. Thank you for being a best friend to my dad for almost 50 years, and in turn being such a huge part of my life. I know you’re up there cruising around in the “naked lady” truck smiling down on all of us. Rest easy old man, and I’ll see you again someday!

Awesome post Adam. There is not too many people that referred to him as Mr Miyagi. One of my favorite nicknames for dad.

I’m very sad. Monday night I said good bye my oldest and closest friend, Rick Meredith. I’ve Known Rick and his wife Connie for nearly 50 years. Since I was just a kid. They both welcomed me into their family and really treated me as if I was one of their kids. They were so good to me. I was always welcome to tag along wherever they went. Connie fed me countless meals. I learned so much from Rick.
I’m so grateful I was able to fly back to Indiana and be there to hold his hand and tell him I loved him right up to the end. I’m hurting because I miss him, because there was nothing I could do for someone I’d do anything in the world for.
Connie, I love you and Rick so much. Tony, Jeff and Stephanie. You three have grown into such wonderful adults and parents. I’m proud of you all. Please know I love you as much as I love my own children.
Everyone always says time heals all wounds. I suppose that’s true. All I know for sure is that this one is gonna take a mighty long time.
    Rick I’ll love you forever.
