Rita Fischer, 87, of Valparaiso, Indiana passed away September 18, 2018 at North Park Nursing Center. She was born on August 18, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York. She was known for being a great cook, a friend to many, and being a loving wife.
Rita is survived by her husband of 30 years, John Fischer; sons Patrick and Joseph; her daughter, Sister Maureen; step sons Craig and Stephen; many grandchildren and three sisters.
She is preceded in death by her parents Sylvester McGuiness and Florence (Casella) McGuiness, son Frank, daughter Carol, and three brothers.
A visitation will be held for Rita at Graceland Cemetery on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A service will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 at 10:00 AM.
