Elizabeth (Betty) Louise White, age 82, of Valparaiso, IN passed away at Signature Health Care in Valparaiso, IN, on January 8, 2019. Betty was born on January 4th, 1937 in Boonville, IN to Thurman and Ethel (Graham) Irvin. Betty grew up in Indianapolis, IN with her 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Betty was very proud of her family and loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Betty also loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. Betty was a faithful member of the Christ Apostolic Church for 21 years. She enjoyed giving to others and was known for helping those less fortunate.
Betty was the beloved wife of the late John White, Jr., devoted mother of Debra Packer and Terrie Tucker, both of Boonville, Brenda White (Jimmy Meredith), David White (Holly), John Baker (Gina), all of Valparaiso, and loving grandmother and great-grandmother to several grandchildren. Betty was also the dear sister of Charles Irvin of Cape Canaveral, FL, Sarah Mae Huffman of Indianapolis, Jean Spears of Camby, Ruby Darby of Newburgh, and Phyllis Baker (Harold) of Chandler, IN. Betty was preceded in death by her mother and father, Thurman & Ethel Irvin, her husband, John White Jr., and her brother Donald Irvin.
Betty’s family would like to thank Signature Health Care and Kindred Hospice for the wonderful care and support they gave to both Betty and her entire family during her final days.
Family and friends will gather at Christ Apostolic Church, 636 E. Washington Street, Chandler, IN on Friday, January 11th from 10 a.m. until service time at 12 p.m. A burial will directly follow at Freedom Cemetery in Boonville, IN. Condolences can be made at www.sunsetevansville.com
