Charlene Mosley, 69, went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2019. She was born November 21, 1949 in Valparaiso, Indiana to the late George and Mattie Fykes-Winstead.
Charlene was married to her husband Charles for 44 years. They were high school sweethearts.
Charlene was a member of Saint James Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Church Mission. Charlene worked at the Roca Bar many years ago. She graduated from Central High School Class of 1967. Charlene loved to collect magnets. She was so creative. She could take picture frames or decorated erasers and turned them into magnets. Whenever she got a new magnet it was the highlight of her day. She was also an amazing photographer and enjoyed knitting and puzzle books.
Charlene adored animals and had two dogs, a cat, and a goldfish. Charlene loved to spend time with her family. Last March, Charlene took a trip to Tampa, FL to spend time with her daughter. It was her favorite trip.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Anna Bell Winstead, Elvis Winstead, James Winstead, Cherry Winstead-Owsley, Maxine Winstead-Tolliver, Steve Winstead, Thomas Winstead Sr., and Ronald Gibson.
Charlene leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Charles Mosley; her daughter Edwina Mosley, her sister Mae Carolyn (Earl) Hicks, brother Lawrence (Laresa) Winstead; several brother and sister in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
There will be a graveside service at Graceland Memorial Park in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at 11 a.m. Friday, January 18th followed by a celebration of life at St. James MBC.
